Perthes Bone Awl can be used in many different surgeries that require handling of bone. Specifically it can used on orthopedic surgeries to do a wide variety of things such as creating or enlarging holes in bone. This can also be useful in spinal surgeries to create pilot holes in vertebrae that can be enlarged using a drill. The unique aspect of this instrument is the handle which is made to be gripped perpendicular to the point making it easy to use manually with increased precision.
